Modenza about studio interior

About

Modenza designs and crafts custom cabinetry, paneling, and interior systems curated to become part of the home architecture.

About Modenza

Designed around how a home lives.

Modenza is a Los Angeles cabinetry and interiors studio creating custom kitchens, architectural millwork, wall paneling, wardrobes, vanities, and integrated storage systems.

Projects are developed in collaboration with the homeowners, designers, architects, and contractors who value thoughtful interiors and careful detailing from the earliest stages of the project through installation.

A kitchen, wardrobe, or paneled room is rarely experienced as a collection of individual pieces.

Cabinetry influences circulation, storage, sight lines, and the way materials relate to one another throughout a home.

For this reason, planning begins long before production, with careful consideration given to layout, dimensions, and the requirements of everyday use.

The studio's perspective is informed by a tradition of European craftsmanship and a preference for interiors that feel ordered, functional, and enduring.

Attention is given to proportions, material selection, hardware, and the details that shape how a space is experienced over time.

Principles

Why Choose Modenza?

Five principles guide every Modenza project, from the first design conversation to the final installation.

Precision

Measurement, reveals, proportions, and alignment are considered together so the finished work feels balanced and resolved.

Design Integrity

Cabinetry, paneling, appliances, lighting, and storage are designed to support one another rather than compete for attention.

Craftsmanship

Materials, hardware, grain direction, and construction details are selected with longevity and daily use in mind.

Project Clarity

Drawings, specifications, and communication remain consistent throughout the project, so decisions can move forward with confidence.

Personal Fit

No two households use the space in the same way. Storage, routine, collections, and habits shape the direction of design.

Our Journey

Modenza grew from a simple observation: many homeowners could find beautiful inspiration, but struggled to turn that inspiration into cabinetry that was technically sound, properly coordinated, and built with the level of care the home deserved. The studio was created to close that gap between design intent and finished craft.

Today, our process is shaped around collaboration. We help clarify the layout, select materials, coordinate finishes, review proportions, and guide clients through the many decisions that determine whether a space feels merely finished or truly resolved. The result is cabinetry and paneling that looks quiet, feels substantial, and works naturally over time.

Why Modenza? Because we treat cabinetry as part of the architecture, not as an afterthought. Our team is focused on precision, communication, and a finished experience that feels calm, elevated, and deeply usable.

For clients who want to understand the work in person, the Studio City showroom brings those decisions into a physical space. Materials, scale, storage details, finishes, and hardware can be seen and touched before a project begins, making the design process more confident and more personal.

Showroom

Visit the Studio City showroom.

The showroom offers an opportunity to experience materials, finishes, hardware, and cabinetry details beyond drawings and samples. Scale becomes easier to understand, decisions become easier to evaluate, and conversations naturally move from ideas to specifics. For many clients, it is where a project begins to feel real.
